In Laos, An Education highlight for Caritas Australia in 2010/11 has been commenced. It has been difficult in Laos for international non-government organizations to work.

That is why Caritas Australia has been implemented education program with partnerships with organization which has well-established relationship with the Laos Government.

The Lao Disabled People’s Association (LDPA), they have started a program aimed at helping children with disabilities with the help of Local partner.

About Lao Disabled People’s Association

The aim of this Lao Disabled People’s Association (LDPA) program is to support 50 children with an intellectual disability. This organization used to conduct various workshops for parents and teachers of children with disability. Specially trained experts give training.

Program aims:

* Effective Care, educate on the behalf of children with disability

* Manage behavioral management with the help of teachers and parents.

* Develop opportunities for schools and colleges to build such network for mutual support.
